Today is an experiment in holographic layering - a milky base with pink foil particles as a base polish and a layer of HITS Hefesto on top. This came out very subtle. Between pink foil shining through and holographic, holo doesn't take the spotlight. However, it works nicely together as a combination. All I can say is I feel like a pretty princess!

Holographic and Duochrome mish-mash experiment
*drool* Rainbows!
Duochromes are probably my favourite finish of them all... I love them more than any polishes. What is your favourite duochrome polish of all time?

Abstract butterfly - holographic and duochrome
This was an experiment do sort of dupe the Ozotic mish-mash type of polish - a duochrome with a holographic effect.
I used Sparitual - It's Raining Men and HITS Hefesto on top. Then, I used a black nail art brush to do the lines. This was supposed to be an abstract look, but eventually, some of them turned into a butterfly wing pattern. I want to try this with a stronger duochrome next time, but I do love how airy and delicate this combination looks. I must do more holographic layering!

OPI Pink Friday holographic dotticure
This is my take on Pink Friday...
When the Nicki Minaj collection was first announced, Pink Friday looked like this in the promo shots:
A PINK HOLOGRAPHIC. I was sorely disappointed when it was just a creme. In any case, armed with HITS Hefesto, a sexy holographic topcoat, I have created a holographic Pink Friday to satiate my holo hunger. 3 coats of OPI Pink Friday, 1 coat of Hefesto (Spectraflair topcoat), a few accent dots to make this baby shine:
I wish I could somehow make it MORE holo but that might make the color grainier, as it tends to become with too much spectraflair particles in a creme. Either way, it's holo, it's pink, experiment is successful! I'm only regretting the grainy look, but that will come with any holo. Maybe, if I could find VERY fine grade Spectraflair I can try making a linear holo topcoat at some point.

HITS Poseidon holographic
I wanted to show you my favorite holo of the bunch - HITS Poseidon! A Nice blue polish with a strong holographic effect, even outside of sunlight.
It's a little bit sheer, I am showing 3 coats though, so it's solid enough not to be a deal killer. I'm loving the blue colour in a holographic polish, I have wanted Nfu-oh 65, but it was out of stock last time I ordered. However, Poseidon satisfies my blue holo hunger! Mmmm I want to order all the HITS now, this is probably one of my favorite polish brands right now. Do you have any HITS polishes? If so, what are your favorites?

HITS Olympo Zeus holographic
HITS is a Brazilian company that produced nail polish and their contribution to the nail polish world over the last year has been TREMENDOUS. They have released a full range of holographic polishes with Spectraflair in the Olympo collection, a ton of duo/multichrome polishes from Mari Moon and the Mundo De Dancas flakie collection, which contains flakie topcoats and polishes with flakies in them. Today, I will be showing you a black holographic polish called Zeus, from the HITS Olympo; a charcoal holographic and a slayer of longtime wants.
One of my first really-want-but-impossible-to-find polishes was OPI - My Private Jet (original holographic version) which was a black holo and it was STUNNING. I've been looking around for it in dusties but never found it... and finally, my wishes for a black holographic came true when I got my hands on Zeus.
Mmm that rainbow!
It's a little more charcoal than black, but it still lights up a rainbow. I haven't gotten sun to show you its full rainbow glory, but once I do...
It's a little thin with 4 coats to full opacity and a little jellylike. I layered this over black for maximum colour payoff and did some stamping, with Out The Door topcoat.
I can't wait to see this in the sunlight! It's so beautiful!

HITS Olympo holographic and flakie haul!
From left to right: Zeus, Hefesto, Poseidon, Artmetis, Valsa, Foxtrot, Lambada
Yesss my haul from Brazil is finally here!
Months later I can now enjoy and bask in the glory of these... the bottles are a little small but that isn't an issue for me. The black holo, Zeus is something I've craved for a while, perhaps it might even satisfy my want for OPI My Private Jet! I can't wait to try these, I want the sun to come out so I can check them out! Have some bottle shots:

the flakies
Do you prefer flakies or holos? Which is your favourite?

OPI - Nicki Minaj collection minis
How pretty is that packaging? So shiny.
Ahh yes...the new Nicki Minaj Collection.
I really wanted Metallic 4 Life though, but wherever I go, it's all gone...all sold out. So to sate my hunger, I have bought a box of OPI minis for the first time. Notice how the box says Metallic 4 Life when in the bottle it's clearly Save Me? I have no idea what the heck but that is one pretty box.

New year nails! Nfu-oh 63 holographic
My new year nails! Yaaay happy 2012 <3
Messily freehanded tips brought to you by WnW Black creme.
This is...beyond words. Nfu-oh 63 is a FANTASTIC holographic polish, which looks great in pretty much any light. It's a light pink dull metallic base which lights up like a flame whenever there's any light.
It looks starkly different from nfu-oh 61's new formula, or the "dud". It's base color is duller than new 61 (new 61 is a very shiny silver) and the holographic effect is much more intense. Keep readin for rainbow nails!

China Glaze - L8R G8R linear holo
This is another polish I picked up at my last dusty, from the China Glaze OMG collection... L8R G8R!
It's a lime green linear holo...so beautiful. The holographic particles are so fine and small, it's basically a seamless rainbow effect. And the best part is that I found basically a FULL bottle! I went a little nuts with the pictures but they still don't capture its beauty perfectly, which is really too bad. I've never seen anything like it before, especially on the thumbs. Wow! Enjoy the multitude of pics~

Nfu-oh JS-15 jelly sandwich
flash
sunlight
I've been CRAVING jellies so I made a fabuloustreet order in which two jellies I grabbed: JS15 and JS09. I've been really wanting a peach jelly and a baby blue jelly. JS15 is my dream baby blue jelly!
It's a milky light blue which dries fast and looks like candy. It's a bit milky so it looks more pastel. I honestly enjoyed this way more than I thought...it's not very opaque, but looks great in two coats. Here I'm using OPI Serving Up Sparkle with JS15 to make a sexy blue jelly sandwich!
2 coats of JS15, 1 coat of SUS, another coat of JS15 and some SUS on the tips! Because the holoness disappeared after a layer of jelly, so I added some on top to add to the sparkliness. I'm in love with this combo... It reminds me of crystals frozen in ice. It's crazy! I've GOT to do more jelly sandwiches soon!
What do you guys think about jelly sandwiches? Love 'em or meh?

OPI - DS Original *holographic insanity*
DS Original is the craziest holographic I own so far! I scored half a bottle on my last dusty and I finally got to try it. It's a dusty lilac with the most intense rainbow I've even seen. A bit sheer, 3 coats is enough for full opacity, smells terrible but dries fast. The holographic particles are very fine and the rainbow shows in most lights. It at its most intense in the sunlight of course!
When I first put this on, the cloudy skies of Vancouver parted and the sun came out! Just for me. So I took this wonderful opportunity to show you DS Original in its full sunshine glory! Enjoy the pile of rainbowy pics!

OPI - DS Signature
Picture taken with flash
OPI DS Signature was another one of my dusty hauls, I have about a half a bottle of this stuff. It's a mauve holographic polish, which is the strangest combination! On one hand, mauve is a very wearable "normal" polish color...on the other hand, it sparkles with intense rainbows which pleases a polish fanatic like me. I like it! The old DS series are very smelly but they are worth it. 3 coats for full opacity, good dry time, wearing Seche Vite on top and it's still super holo! I love the way it looks in the bottle as well, shown here. Overall, this is an intense holographic that looks like a normal polish from a distance... I wouldn't say it's 100% worksafe for strict jobs but it might be something a conservative person can still try and like. It's a bit too mauve for me, but it's still a very beautiful polish.
Read on for more pics!

China Glaze Sexagon (tons of pics)
China Glaze Sexagon was a part of the holographic Kaleidoscope collection back in 2006 and I got my hands on it during my second dusty hunt! It's only about half full but I'm happy I even got to hold it...Oh my god. It's a very interesting holographic polish, the particles are quite large and the texture in the bottle very much resembled the Shiseido Maquillage 93 and in the "type" of holographic (dare I call it...scattered holo?) this is very similar, but somehow...Sexagon is SO much more colorful!
This is possibly the most holographic polish I own, it's an intense rainbow with bright flecks and sparkles...just all-around amazing. I put Seche Vite over top and it did not dull the holographic effect at all!
Applies a bit light, took about 3 coats to show its full opacity, but the effect is very evident even if I use 2 coats. It dries very fast and did not require a special base (looks the same with Nfu-oh Aqua base or without). The rainbow shows indoors, outdoors, any sort of light pretty much. I usually never see grey, it's always rainbows everywhere! This makes me happy, because ever since I moved to Vancouver, sun has been one of its rarest pleasures.
But enough about me...enjoy the spam!

OPI DS Coronation
OPI DS Sapphire
OPI DS Signature
As well as, here is OPI Standing Room Only (silver)! 3 coats over nude polish, Seche Vite on top:
This one is a little sheer, so one layer can make any color holo, acting like a top coat. 2-3 colors reach more opacity, giving it a light dusty grey look with a whole lot of rainbow! I really love this one!

First successful dusty hunt!
Want to learn how to dusty hunt?
Oh.. My...GOD!
Oh.. My...GOD!
I finally decided to pop into an unknown nail salon for a minute to check out their dusties and I HIT THE JACKPOT. They had a rack of old stuff and among these...hello! OPI holos!
I ended up grabbing Standing Room Only, DS Sapphire, DS Coronation and DS signature! Whoo hoo!
I was too excited to even haggle down the price...wow, I had no idea I'd actually have the courage to try dustying, never mind walk away with OPI holos!
Here are some cellphone pics to show the polishes - better pics coming as soon as I can find the time to edit them :)

Sexy Bomb s42 - pink holographic glitter
Another Sexy Bomb to review! This time I'm trying s42, a sexy and sassy pink glitter with little holographic glitters inside! First off, I think this is meant for layering or making a gradient, because the slightly pink jelly base is loaded with glitter and it is a little on the sheer side. However, I was able to get decent opacity with 3 coats, which isn't too bad. The final color is a strange shade of metallic pink, with metallic fine glitter and holographic slightly larger glitter. S42 ends up looking like a very sheer foil basically and it is EXTREMELY shiny.

Nfu-oh haul and holographic nails
I have finally obtained my first serious holo! The package from fabuloustreet came on my birthday...I ripped it open and my dreams came true.
I ordered nfu-of 61, aquabase, as well as 38 and 51 (flakies).
Even though 61 is the new formula where it's more of a foily finish but not as holo (especially indoors, where it looks like silver) it still glows in the sun! I need more holo...more!
Here is a pic of the haul:
And a pic of nfu-oh 61!
