Beauty supply haul

nail art polishes in pink and navy, Drizzle.
Dare to Bare, Flying Dragon, I Herd That, Awake, Elephant Walk,

Just came back from a vacation, so glad to be home!
I have found a beauty supply store in Vancouver and they DO sell with a membership! Since all the Sally's are so far away, this will suffice.

I really love their selection, Sparituals, China Glazes, OPIs, Color Clubs and a whole lot of strange, unknown and interesting brands and they are cheap! I think I'll know where I'll go for new China Glaze and OPI polishes next time.

Giant Korean haul!

I'm happy to present to you today... a glorious np haul brought to you by Tadukhipa over at the The Cutest Makeup!

I ordered the whole Tony Moly Nail Glitter GS trio, Tony Moly Galaxy nails in Jupiter, Etude House Juicy Cocktail Gradiation nails in Love Purple,  Innisfree Eco Nail Color glitter and finally, more Dear RUS polishes. Phew, that's a mouthful. The two Etude House polishes on their own were an acquisition at a Chinese shopping centre, but I included them because they are a Korean brand!

Read on for a metric TON of macro goodness!

Korean glitter haul!

Today, I want to show you a multitude of Korean glitters I found while in Richmond... they came in these tiny cute fairy bottles, only 2 dollars for all them! There's stars, teardrops, dots and hearts... a lot of interesting shapes and colors. I can't wait to do manicures with these! Jelly sandwiches and nail art ahoy~
Does anyone have tips for star glitter? I always find that the edges stick out past the nail even after 2-3 layers of topcoat and catch onto hair/clothes. Anything I can do to eliminate this?

HITS Olympo holographic and flakie haul!

From left to right: Zeus, Hefesto, Poseidon, Artmetis, Valsa, Foxtrot, Lambada

Yesss my haul from Brazil is finally here!
Months later I can now enjoy and bask in the glory of these... the bottles are a little small but that isn't an issue for me.  The black holo, Zeus is something I've craved for a while, perhaps it might even satisfy my want for OPI My Private Jet! I can't wait to try these, I want the sun to come out so I can check them out! Have some bottle shots:

the flakies

Do you prefer flakies or holos? Which is your favourite?

Daiso haul!

Daiso is like a Japanese IKEA of sorts...lots of housewares stuff but also lots of makeup and soaps and bath stuff! I didn't find too much in terms of nail polish, but I did find some interesting topping glitters!
The ones on the edges are very sheer and give the polish a very nice hidden shimmer, while the golden glitter is multisized and very pretty. The black one is sort of bad, has a stiff little brush and NEVER DRIES. Same does for the silver one but it has a nicer brush. Not a big loss since everything in Daiso...is 2 DOLLARS!

100TH POST!! My first Deborah Lippmann! and a little haul...

 It's my 100th post!

(as if you couldn't tell from that title...) I can NOT believe I wrote a 100 posts already...oh my gosh! I had no idea I had it in me...this blogging thing's got me writing more than ever these days. I'm still learning how to write a bit better, take better photos and paint my nails better and this is just helping me get there, as well as finding lots of friends along the way and discovering a lot of cool things. Thank you for reading and I look forward to writing a 100 more!

I got my hands on my very first DL polish, Stairway to Heaven...it's so pretty! Translucent opalescent hex and round glitter, secret blue sparkle...it's just... "heavenly" :D
I also hauled Essie - Smooth Sailin, China Glaze Blue Iguana and Peachy Keen and Maybelline Cool Couture.

Oooh it has very subtle secret blue shimmer...

Also! I came across Revlon Whimsical (DL Glitter in the Air dupe) and Popular (renamed Starry Pink)

Phew! Oh goodness, now I have so many more polishes to try and so many more posts to write!

Little drugstore haul: owl's night and turquoise and caicos

I spotted L'Oreal Owl's Night on the shelves randomly and decided to grab it. It looks so coool in the bottle! Wow. I've also been eyeing Essie Turquoise and Caicos and haven't decided to pick it up until now. There's just something about light and bright blues and teals that just gets me.
Owl's Night swatches and review coming up!

OPI - no room for the blues and Konad

OPI No Room For the Blues is something I picked up in a little travel set duo along with A Good Man-darin is Hard to Find, which came with a passport holder, pictured here:

The color is a nice, toned down non-offensive blue. It's a little bit less saturated than SH XW Blue Me Away, even though they are fairly similar in the bottle. BMA also seems to be a TINY bit more green than NRFTB, even though it is a perfect sky blue. It took me 3 coats for full opacity. It's not too streaky and dries pretty shiny. I'm happy that it's more of a denim colour, I do like its slight dustiness, yes it still looks stark and bright. I'm pretty happy with this blue! What a yummy addition to my collection.

The Great Dusty Hunt part 2: more pics! plus OPI - Standing Room Only (silver)

How to dusty hunt

I was finally able to edit some photos on my netbook! This is what I promised in First successful dusty hunt!
More pics, better quality, most with flash to display the beautiful shine.
Here, have some botllez!

OPI DS Coronation

OPI DS Sapphire

OPI DS Signature

As well as, here is OPI Standing Room Only (silver)! 3 coats over nude polish, Seche Vite on top:

This one is a little sheer, so one layer can make any color holo, acting like a top coat. 2-3 colors reach more opacity, giving it a light dusty grey look with a whole lot of rainbow! I really love this one!

First successful dusty hunt!

I finally decided to pop into an unknown nail salon for a minute to check out their dusties and I HIT THE JACKPOT. They had a rack of old stuff and among these...hello! OPI holos!
I ended up grabbing Standing Room Only, DS Sapphire, DS Coronation and DS signature! Whoo hoo!
I was too excited to even haggle down the price...wow, I had no idea I'd actually have the courage to try dustying, never mind walk away with OPI holos!
Here are some cellphone pics to show the polishes - better pics coming as soon as I can find the time to edit them :)

ELF haul!

My ELF haul finally came in the mail! *jumps* I ordered a little more than polish, but for the sake of the blog, I will only show the nail polishes. All of these claim a new and improved formula, which might be something to rejoice about. Most of these, when swatched on tape, are opaque in a single coat. The only other one-coaters I have are NYC Colors Times Square and WnW Black Creme. Looking forward to wearing these :D

Vancouver early haul update

So I'm still in Van and I'm hauling like MAD. I'm going to have to do a lot of swatches when I get back, but here is a sneak preview on the Korean polishes I got! I thought I bought these at Face Shop but my bad, looks like the store I got these from is called Cara (or SK Cara) in Metrotown, Burnaby.
Here are some Sexy Bombs and I-charm polishes in these bags over here.
This is NOT all I got so far...can't wait to get them all photographed and reviewed :D

Nfu-oh haul and holographic nails

I have finally obtained my first serious holo! The package from fabuloustreet came on my birthday...I ripped it open and my dreams came true.
I ordered nfu-of 61, aquabase, as well as 38 and 51 (flakies).
Even though 61 is the new formula where it's more of a foily finish but not as holo (especially indoors, where it looks like silver) it still glows in the sun! I need more holo...more!

Here is a pic of the haul:

And a pic of nfu-oh 61!
