Glassy Pink and laces

I've been eyeing Sinfuls for a while but was always a little apprehensive about purchasing them.

 I chose Glassy Pink for its glass fleck finish, it's very sheer and shimmery and the formula is easy to work with. Since it's a sheer polish, it took about 4 coats to get this opacity.  The nail line is still visible, but it isn't apparent. It didn't smell horrible, the texture was pleasing and this made my nails look really long, since it's a nude/light color. I'm really happy with this polish! It's not chunky, was pretty cheap, looks very airy and fresh. Only downside is it's less pink than I wanted, but the beautiful gold shimmer really makes this one stand out for me. Beautiful polish, I bet this would look smashing in sunlight!

OPI - I Have a Herring Problem - Holland 2012

OPI - I Have a Herring Problem is the polish I've been looking forward to the most in the OPI Holland 2012 spring collection! It was a tie betwee I Don't Give a Rotterdam!  and Herring Problem, but Herring won because of the name. Read on for more pics of this baby!

China Glaze - Raspberry Festival

Raspberry Festival was a surprise find at Winners, looks like this was a part of the Summer Days 2009 collection and this is my second polish from it! First one was China Glaze - Strawberry Fields.

It's a wonderful raspberry-coral with a glass fleck and a jelly finish. It applied like a dream in 2 coats, was solid but still retained the jelly look. The colour is seriously juicy, I felt like summer arrived early! 

I'm really loving the China Glaze polishes, some can be hit and miss in terms of formula, but this one is definitely a giant hit with me. Yum!

Essie Smooth Sailing and dotty nail art

Essie Smooth Sailing from the summer collex  is an interesting polish - it's a periwinkle blue which contains...particles. They are shimmery but not in any way I've seen before. If anything, it reminds me of the shimmer in the upcoming OPI Holland collection. It's very subtle, but the polish is full of it. It sort of takes on the texture of denim and looks very downplayed, but still stands well on its own.The formula is nice, it's creamy and opaque, took 2 coats for full opacity and it dried very well. This is one of the good Essies!

I used ORLY Luxe for the dots, made those with the dotting tools. Smooth Sailing is definitely a unique polish in my collection and I do love it! 

Revlon - Blue Lagoon

Blue lagoon 092 is a robin's egg blue, a colour I have 2-3 variations of.  Lagoon is unique in the sense that it has glass flecks so the colour has a bit of depth. In the bottle it's a beautiful blue and you can see the flecks if you look real close.

In terms of application, it's gross. The flakies give it texture of what could be best described as porridge. The color is streaky, yet chunky. It does not dry as fast at it could and needs about 3-4 coats to reach full opacity.

I really do love the way it looks with 3 coats and a topcoat on, but for the price you pay (7-8$cdn) you'd think Revlon would have a nice formula like NYC Colour or Wet N Wild polishes (2-3$cdn). I do not own many Revlon polishes and their formula is the biggest reason. With that said, after the pain-in-the-butt application and gross texture, it does look fantastic at the end. The finish is one of my favorite light blue colors, because the rest are cremes and Blue Lagoon stands out. All in all, it's a toss-up between me liking the colour and finish, while hating the polish itself.
