Sally Hansen nail strips - Brattlesnake

I've been meaning to try these for about 5 months and have always been scared to take the plunge - mostly because of terrible previous experiences with other polish strips. These come in a little box with everything you need: little file and buffer, orange stick and the strips, sealed in a foil packet. These price is around 10$ Canadian, which is a lot for me, so I had high expectations of this product.
Brattlesnake is a khaki-brown snake print with characteristic rattlesnake rhombus design. Having met a few rattlesnakes in my life, I can say that this design is very similar to the real thing. The strips are big enough for my long nails with foil "tips" that you peel off the sticker with. If you have shorter nails, just cut them in half and now you have twice as many! After, you place it on a clean nail and file off the excess. I found that the worst adhesion was around the base of my nails and I made the mistake of lightly stretching it over my tips, sort of wrapping them. This destroyed the color on the tips in 2-3 days, I had a considerable tipwear probably because of that.
Here you can see the raggedy looking cuticles as a result of too much topcoat due to them sticking funny at the bottom.

Otherwise, these stayed on, did not peel at all (except a bit at the base where I fixed it with topcoat) and were a breeze to do! I have seen people do stress tests and these last for 2+ weeks when properly applied. I have a feeling I will be relying on the SH strips for vacation.

  3. After I heard such great things about these I bought some for a vacation back in May and they were a disaster! Every time I tried to position them the edge of my nail would put a tear in them. They look great on you though!! Maybe I will try again!

    1. This is what kind of happened to me, they kinda tore at the edge of the nail, so that's why I ended up "wrapping" the tips with these. I think it stretched the edges too far, but I think I just need to try them again
